My first published article!
Early in the year, I was invited by my mentor (and ACT teacher librarian colleague, AND former university lecturer!!) Lori Korodaj to present with her at the National ASLA conference based on some work I had done for “Teacher Librarian as Leader” ETL504 at CSU.
The conference was held here in Canberra in April. It was a huge thrill and the experience of preparing our workshop and presenting at the conference were hugely worthwhile. Not to mention I ended up seated at the official table with the ASLA Executive, author Jack Heath and next to MORRIS GLEITZMAN at the official dinner! But that’s a story for another time…
Our workshop was about the ways in which teacher librarians can demonstrate leadership in their schools and contribute to school success. Lori and I work in different school contexts and have different levels of experience, so these varied perspectives allowed us to share something for everyone.
We got some really positive feedback to our session, so we developed our workshop into an article and it was published this week in ACCESS, Vol. 33, No. 4, November 2019, pp. 14–25.
I must admit to having a secret ambition to being a published author, so I am giddy with excitement! You can access the full PDF article HERE.
