The changing nature of information and rapid development of technology over the past twenty years has given consumers a great deal of choice and therefore power in directing the nature of book publishing and sales.
"Teacher librarians use professional selection criteria to make resourcing choices that keep your library collection current and relevant to the curriculum and your school context. Teacher librarians are professional curators - they select only the most useful resources for teaching and learning."
There are several established and emerging curated content sites available for teacher librarians and the bookish tech heads amongst us. Two such sites are Scoop it! and The Sapling.
A small, curated and balanced collection of resources can be more effective than a very large collection of irrelevant resources.
